Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN and HLN. She frequently appears as a guest on CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. The station meteorologist was employed as the meteorologist of local stations on the air in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga prior to moving to CNN. The station covered blizzards and hurricanes as well as flooding, wildfires, and received an Emmy for the coverage she gave of Hurricane Dorian that struck the Bahamas during the year of 2019. In April 2011, she covered the super-tornado outbreak, in which 350 tornadoes struck Southeastern United States within four days. Around 200 tornadoes were recorded on the 27th of April 2011. Her work being an ecoscientist allowed her to cover stories regarding climate change and natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar holds a Bachelor's Degree of Atmospheric Science, which she obtained from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
