Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946, into a low-income family, with twelve kids later on, realized early that she was able to escape suffering through her imaginative mind. Before she could read or write, she composed her own songs. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. In the age of 11, she began to sing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. The same year she released her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While still in highschool she established herself in the local community, yet she yearned for having a bigger stage. After graduating high school in 1964 she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show needed an additional singer around this time. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She took on the role in 1967. She left Wagoner's show, however, in 1974 because her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton wrote "I will Always Be Loving You" to Wagoner soon after their split. It reached number. 1 for the first time since 1974.
